The Shore Intermediate Band began in 1958. The focus of the organization is to:

  1. Raise the caliber of music performance.
  2. Challenge exceptional band musicians.
  3. Encourage the performance of quality band music.
  4. Encourage the membership to continue to improve its professional status as musicians and educators.
  5. Promote a spirit of cooperation and fellowship among music educators in the area.
  6. Stimulate wider public interest in music education.
